Some more concept pieces exploring the early visual development of Vesper City. At this time the game world was firmly scifi while appearing fantasy at a glance. Seeing a lost city from our era was a way to ground the world. To defamiliarize the city vesper scarring and deformation could be used to reform the materials and silhouettes of buildings. All of this material was being pulled toward a mysterious central spire. Its purpose was a yet to be revealed but the city was its host. Working closely with design, I created a map of this urban space, addressing the gameplay needs of our bases while pushing distorted streetscapes for adventurous exploration. Landmarks like the central spires, and views like the ones seen here would maintain legibility.
Thank you to the whole team at Wildlight Entertainment for the opportunity to collaborate and create this world with them.
