The small gatehouse point of interest was a way to explore the layered architecture I was trying to develop for the world. The initial idea was to communicate a "grown" architecture that would warp the layered stone foundations into a kind of prefabricated roof with metallic ribs to guide the design and stabilize the structure. The goal was to create an iconic motif guided by structure and material. Some of these elements informed the environments in production. The concrete iteration was a test for a more sci-fi variant as opposed to the ancient stone layering I tried initially.
