I wanted to expand the idea of stone trunks into the architecture of forts during the High Republic. The first image explores how metal brackets could give the shape of iconic castle turrets. while also holding the thin pillars of rock together. While exploring the potential of this type of formation, I decided to push the idea of collapsing basalt to give a unique shape while also describing how these structures fracture, slide, and fall. The choice of this rock formation was not just an aesthetic choice, but rather a functional one, designed to accommodate unique interactive gameplay.
